John Ortberg graduated from Wheaton College and has a Master of Divinity and PhD in Clinical Psychology from Fuller Seminary. John now serves as Senior Pastor at Menlo Park Presbyterian Church, in Menlo Park, CA.
He is the author of a number of books including, When the Game is Over, It all Goes Back in the Box; If You Want to Walk on Water, You've Got to get Out of the Boat; The Life You've Always Wanted and others. John also writes periodicals for Leadership Journal and Christianity Today and speaks in a variety of venues.
John was born in Rockford, Illinois. His wife Nancy is also a seminary graduate and also served as a teaching pastor at Willow Creek Community Church. They have been married for over 25 years and are parents of three children, Laura, Mallory and John.
