It is a rare set of skills that enable David Batstone to be active as a business entrepreneur, professor, and nationally renowned author. Batstone is co-founder and president of the Not For Sale Campaign. He is also managing partner of the Right Reality Venture Fund, an international venture firm, and co-owner of Earthware Enterprises, a company providing tools for organic farmers internationally. He was a founding editor of Business 2.0 magazine, and a regular contributor to WIRED, SPIN, The New York Times, the Chicago Tribune and the San Francisco Chronicle. Batstone is the recipient of two journalist awards and author of five books, including Saving the Corporate Sale and Not for Sale. For the past 15 years, he has been a professor at the University of San Francisco, where he was named the National Endowment for the Humanities Chair for his work in technology and ethics.
During the 1980s, he founded and directed a non-governmental agency dedicated to economic development and human rights in Latin America. Today he serves as president of the Not For Sale Campaign, a human rights effort to mitigate the sale of human beings and their forced labor.
